The Board of Directors of GAB is pleased to announce that Mr Hans Essaadi has been named the successor for Mr Charles Ireland who will step down as the Managing Director of the Company with effect from 1 March 2013 after nearly 6 years successfully leading the Company through significant growth in volume, market share and profit.

Mr Essaadi, a Dutch, has been with the Heineken Netherlands Group for over 20 years where he served in various capacities within the Group working across several markets. He has extensive experience in business development, sales and brand marketing and in his various roles, he has shown strong and focused leadership. Mr Essaadi was the General Manager of Sirocco from March 2008 until end of December 2012. Sirocco is a joint venture between Heineken and Emirates in the Gulf Region.

Mr Essaadi obtained his Bachelor’s degree (Major in Finance) from Hotelschool the Hague, an international institute for Hospitality Management, Netherlands where he completed a 4-year business oriented course including two international traineeships.

Mr Essaadi will succeed Mr Charles Ireland who will continue to serve GAB until he hands over his position as the Managing Director of GAB on 1 March 2013.
